Good info for new mommies!

Posted @withregram • @newwaysnutrition Do you let your baby put things in their mouth? It is one of the best things you can do to help them get ready for eating!

Toys, spoons, specific chewing things, they’re all good options! (I’ll add some examples to my amazon store at the link in my bio for those of you interested.) On top of getting your baby ready for eating, though, it helps you get ready for them to eat! Because by putting things in their mouth, they’re going to be exploring their gag reflex. Meaning they will gag! And this will give you the time to practice how you react to it.
Because if you haven’t heard me talk about it before, one of the most important things for you to do when they’re eating is not react to gagging! Showing you’re scared, anxious, or worried is what makes them worried. And then they think it is not normal and can get scared to eat. That’s the last thing we want!

So take advantage of them gagging on toys and spoons, and practice not reacting! It’s a win-win for both you and baby.
