Research has shown that playing with fewer toys is associated with *sustained* play. Too many toys seem to cause distractions. Kids play deeper and longer when fewer toys are available.
✔️However, before you jump in and put toys away, take some time to observe your children when playing. Which toys are holding their interest?
❌ Don’t put away toys that your child values.
✔️There are no hard and fast rules about how often to rotate toys. However, once a month is reasonable. But do whatever feels right for your family.
❌HINT: Don’t put toys away in front of your children and leave favourites in their usual place.
✔️Rotating toys keep a child interested and focused on his play.
Allow your child’s play to guide you on how many toys are left out and how often to rotate them. Do the same thing for books.
Rotating toys is good for your kids and beneficial for your sanity too. 🖊 @healthiest_baby
